Weekends away from home / Fines de semana lejos de casa

I'm writting from Maastricht, The Netherlands. I'll be out here for 4 days for business. I got here earlier today and jet lag is hitting hard, therefore no sleeping for me and not much more to do around here, so time to blog.

I can't say I enjoy business trips as much as I used to, the business part is ok, I like participating in the meetings, working with other teams, people, companies,... but I don't have the drive to spend my free time roaming around as I used to. It just doesn't feel right. This is specially true when I happen to be away from home on weekends and I just can't stop thinking about Marc and Lily, our routines, how busy life seems when we are together...

Luckily this doesn't happen often, but it was enough for me to go to picasa and check-out how things were a year ago, when Marc was barely half a year old, we were still in our Chicago condo and had just come back from spending Christmas in Spain with my family. There go a couple of pictures showing the "then" and "now".

Baobao is in Youtube

Uploading videos to blogger can be painful and slows down the blog, so we've decided to create our own you tube channel where we've uploaded most of Baobao's videos so far:

Blue Christmas

First time away from home (Altea) for Christmas, can't say I'm looking forward to a second time. There's something unique about being home these days, enjoy the same traditions, be close to my family...

Since this year it was impossible we tried to make the most out of it and went down to Indian Wells, probably the nicest desert city in the south-east of California.

There goes a video showing why this was a blue Christmas :)

Love and merry Christmas everybody!

Thanksgiving by the beach

One of the many nice things about living in California is the amazing weather, during the Thanksgiving weekend we went to some of the beaches just North of San Francisco, it's a really beautiful and scenic drive by the ocean and the beaches are gorgeous.

Baobao really enjoyed running up and down in the sand, but not so much the wind nor the cold ocean water :)
